Carried away in the whirl of work, I failed to mention that we have two new musically intuitive & amazing band members who joined us earlier this year: Our Bass player is Lisa Scannel (www.lisaonbass.ch). She accompanied Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), Donna Summer, Nelly Furtado, Tom Odell, Hurts, Loreen, Leona Lewis, Marc Sway, Seven, Daniel Powter, Dionne Bromfield and Katherine Jenkins, played at Art on Ice in 2009 - 2015. Our Guitarist is Patrick "Pady" Odermatt (www.padymusic.ch) has played in many rock, pop, country, and funk bands. From the first practice we loved that the wall of sound we created!
Thanks to my spirit of perseverance, faith, my supportive husband, friends and an invisible flow and force that brings us together - I found a very cool and creative team of young film makers and artists to film a White Dandelions video with! So, I flew to Finland last week...
Snapshots of Sky is a new baby that just popped out into the world. It's a love story of two real people who went through a rough journey to find each other and then to understand that they belong together like no other.
"And if the red, red sun Sets the earth on fire, I'll take a plane to meet you, We'll dine in the light, and if they sky slips away, and all the things are done, our love still remains."
My dear friend Jonna and especially insightful and fiery human, is releasing her album soon! We wrote many songs together!! Her voice is amazing to me. Here is what Jonna says about our song, Smile: "I noticed that I felt happier when I tried to find things to be grateful for... I would stop and try to hear the beautiful silence underneath the traffic hour... I would keep my eyes open for the beauty around me. Such as sun beams shining like diamonds in the snow." New LIVE VIDEO of me and my band! Get CARRIED AWAY with us! I would like to share the energy of the moment with you - playing live in Maur, Switzerland! Special thanks to our video director Natasha Afanasyeva.
Thanks, Muri, for your cheerful screams to our songs! Thanks Mash and Pitch Webber for lighting up the stage last Friday night and for nice chats! Thanks to my wonderful bandmates! You rocked!! ~ Nikki
“Her poignant words resonate amid intricate, piano-based melodies to create high-quality indie-pop similar to Regina Spektor and Yael Naim. While her style seems destined for the airwaves of NPR, there’s also crossover potential to pop and AAA radio formats. Her soaring tunes have a cinematic feel and would seem custom made for movie soundtracks. Forova’s voice is sweet and distinctive...The strings and brass add luscious layers to the well-crafted songs, separating them from similar acts in the genre. Nikki Forova kept the audience entranced with a whirlwind of songs, both high-flying and touching. Withmusic that conveys a wide range of emotion, many listeners will find Nikki Forova instantly relatable.”
Last year I met two incredibly gifted and intuitive musicians who have years of experience of playing in the bands! Happy to announce they have joined me as a band and we are now taking our musical journey together. Michael Berweger is a double bass player, a singer and songwriter from Winterthur, Switzerland. Guillaume Andre is our percussionist (cajon, djembe and more), a great singer too, from Brussels, Belgium. And Lukas Zeublin, a gifted violinist, studying at the Music Conservatory at ZHDK, has joined our BAND as well. Super excited to have them join!
